Ok, I'm starting to question either my writing skills or my editor. I realize that FL has been hit now by two hurricanes, but after being reassured by my editor after Charley, that he was ok, I haven't had the same level of communication I did with him before I'd sent the script. I mean the time between the script being sent to him and these storms hitting was about a month. I already hold the copyright on it so I'm not worried about that, I'm mainly worried about the wasted time I've spent waiting if by chance he's not able to complete or do the job. Plus the deposit I sent him for the work being done won't make me feel too good if I've only gotten one edited chapter for $150. Guess its just a wait and see thing. But the question is, how long do I wait?

Is this the first time you've worked w/ this editor or did he do your last book too? I'm asking questions like I actually know what I'm talking about... ;D But anyway, when's the last time you heard from him? Maybe he's getting ready for Ivan already.

This is the first time I've worked with this editor, but he came highly recommended by several authors I know and the book review he writes for.
As an update, I spoke with him online the other night and I got sort of a brush off (after I explained what TsnMMFan stood for lol). I'd just put his aol screen name from the email addy on my buddy list to see if I could see him online. I caught him online and we started talking, once he found out it was me, he promised a 'couple chapters' and was quick to leave the chat. That doesn't make me comfortable at all, but I've seen him on since that night and not received anything.
The thing is, I know I'm not a crappy writer. I'm no literary genius by any means, but it's not like there's a bunch of spelling errors and stuff. So, it makes me wonder if I've gotten in the middle of a big snafoo (course, now that word could be spelled wrong- wait is it a word?) I guess I will just wait and see.
And btw Madsengirl, you totally sounded like a pro - no kidding! ;D

Yeahhhhhhh, that would make me a little suspicious too. But that's just my amatuer opinion. ;D

UPDATE.... The book is rip roaring along now as I have finally received chapters 1 through 8. At this rate it might be a Christmas book for my ATM members who've expressed their desire to read it and give me their opinion. And I might add the editing that's been done is excellent so far so I am real proud of what's done.

Ok so I'm digging through old posts and see this one. Hopefully the new link on the chat site to my first book will be helpful and I appreciate the asking about the book.
