This is too cool - caught it in my local paper
'Pulp Fiction' prequel considered
VENICE, Italy (AP) -- Pulp Fiction, the Prequel? John Travolta, who played hit man Vincent Vega in director Quentin Tarantino's blood-drenched 1994 film, said Tarantino has been considering another episode of the drama.
"Every six months he calls me to talk about a project on the story of the Vega brothers - a type of prequel to 'Pulp Fiction,'" he said in an interview, La Repubblica newspaper reported in Friday's editions. "Then, it all remains in his mind."
Travolta is in town for the Venice Film Festival to promote "A Love Song for Bobby Long," while Tarantino is a co-presenter in a retrospective of Italian B-movies.
"The problem is that we worked together in tight times," Travolta said of the collaboration. "Now he makes films for millions of dollars. I don't know if I'd still be OK for him."
All we can say is someday - when the time is right - maybe this film will be made! My fingers are crossed. ;D

Yeah, it would've ruined the whole 'Vega Bros' dream movie if he would've played both parts.

yeah i think that over all it would have been weird to see mike playing a different character with almost the same name. plus i really think john travolta did amazing job as vincent vega and honestly i dont think mike would have pulled it off the way travolta did. dont get me wrong, it would have still been good with mike but just not the same.

Found this on Moviehole today:
Seems Quentin Tarantino is still keen to do a "Vega Brothers" movie - a film that would team "Reservoir Dogs" Vic Vega with "Pulp Fiction" pro-Mullet Vincent Vega - but whether it's due to budget or lack of interest on the former Sweathog's behalf, word is it might be without John Travolta.
Michael Madsen is keen to go - and not surprisingly, his only good pay day is when he gets a gig in one of QT's lil' numbers - but Travolta is apparently not so committed. The latest is that Tarantino might re-cast the part. C'Mon! Seriously?!
Sounds like someone better wave a big chunk of green in front of Danny Zuko before we end up with Matt LeBlanc in the role. Why Tarantino would even consider doing it without Travolta is beyond me. Hopefully this is a chinese whisper that's got twisted somewhere along the Hollywood/Highland route.
Well, at least it wasn't Michael he wanted to recast!

Yeah but still...the movie would be kindof cheesy without John Travolta...the point is that he's reuniting the two characters. If he recasts JT's part...it won't flow because the actor who takes his place (if the rumor is even true) would have to rebuild the chemistry that was already preset by John Travolta...you know? I just thought about this today- if they're brothers and they worked for two different people then the Vega Bros story would have to explain how they split up to work for other people. So I was thinking- in RD Vic had allegedly done 4 years for being caught in a warehouse full of hot items while he was working for Joe Cabot...maybe Vincent was also working for Cabot at the time but in order to take the heat off of himself he went to work for Marcelus and a while after left for Europe after his brother was caught (if you remember in PF he'd just gotten back from Amsterdam). Because you figure Vic did 4 years and PF was made 2 years after RD so that's 6 years that Vincent was working for Marcelus and I think he was in Europe for 3 years (according to PF)That could be how they split up...but that's just my theory. I could be totally wrong. And you know what I was thinking? Are they supposed to be twins? Or is one supposed to be older than the other?

wow, thats just to much for my poor brain to take in. but i think you have a good point there. had to read it 5 times to understand though. since harvy keital was in both movies, i wonder if he would be in vega brothers. probably not , since supposedly nobody new eachother in RD.

(if you remember in PF he'd just gotten back from Amsterdam). the vega brothers is supposed to take place in amsterdam (according to michael) so maybe vic came back and got busted w/joe, and vincent just stayed in amsterdam awhile longer...?

Very breezy and sunny. It's beautiful...and the clothing stores in the red light district are very funky. Cool stuff. You'll love it there.
