WW Chi: Fangoria
FANGORIA COMICS will be appearing at Wizard World Chicago this weekend, August 9 thru 12, with a stellar line-up of comics and Hollywood talent!
The crew attending will include: renowned actor Michael Madsen (RESERVOIR DOGS, KILL BILL, and co-creator of Fangoria Comics’ SHIFTER); film producer Patrick Durham (co-creator of SHIFTER; CABIN FEVER 2); actor Ari Lehman (Jason Vorhees of FRIDAY THE 13TH); director Kevin Sean Michaels (VAMPIRA: THE MOVIE); Jesse Blaze Snider (writer of Fangoria Comics’ STRANGELAND: SEVEN SINS; front man of BAPTiZED BY FiRE); writer/artist Mark Kidwell (creator of BUMP and RECLUSE; co-creator of SHIFTER; writer of Image’s 68); artist Tommy Castillo (THE FOURTH HORSEMAN, BATMAN, SE7EN); Fangoria Comics production manager Jason Moser; Fangoria Comics executive editor Scott Licina; and Fangoria Comics associate editor Troy Brownfield.
The crew will be signing at various times throughout the convention at the FANGORIA COMICS booth, located in the Premier Exhibitor section at Booth 142. Schedules will be posted. Comics, posters, prints and more will be available at the booth as well.
Our marquee event will be two signing sessions with Michael Madsen. We will have a limited convention exclusive 8” x 12” print of Michael Madsen’s project SHIFTER, featuring a special UV coated color side by the BENEATH THE VALLEY OF THE RAGE team of artist Stephen Thompson and colorist Jason Jensen; the flip-side is a glossy black and white take on the same image. Though we will ask that you purchase the $10 piece in order to get Mr. Madsen’s autograph, he will also sign a limited number of other items, including DVD inserts and autograph books, for no additional charge. Mr. Madsen will also, time permitting, pose for photographs with fans for, again, no additional charge.
We should also mention that Michael Madsen is an exclusive guest of Fangoria Comics, and will not be signing at any other booths during the event. You will not be required to obtain a ticket, attend a panel, or do a job for Nice Guy Eddie in order to get in line. Simply show up at the posted time, grab your litho, and hang out with the Fangoria Comics crew.

Well, I went. Again, he was really nice - I think he was really tired, actually he was for a fact. I never did find out what times he'd be signing, so by the time we got there & found the booth he was at, they were capping the line. I almost didn't get to meet him, she said the line is closed & he won't be signing anymore. I asked the girl very nicely if could we be the last 2... she said yes (thank God!). I heard some guy from the local press talking behind me saying that Michael had been there all day signing & wasn't in the best mood. So when I got up there, I smiled at him right away & asked if he'd mind signing the "Complete Works" book, he thumbed through it & we chatted about it. He also signed the lithograph. When I was about to leave, we took a pic together. I look awful, but he looks great...& THAT voice!! I didn't want to sound like a typical fan & ask about Mr. Blonde & stuff like that. So when I meant to ask him what are your plans while back home (Chicago), BUT because I was a little nervous, it came out "what are you doing after this"... I knew what I wanted to say wasn't coming out right, I was mortified, I totally dorked out. lol. Maybe the 3rd time I meet him will be the charm. He's a doll in my book, I did manage to make him laugh before I left though. I also met Lou Ferrigno (The Hulk), the hubby was really excited about that encounter.

I'm still wrapped over you seeing Michael. Well,I don't think he'll ever get to New Zealand to sign anything unless he signs all over me. What a thrill that would be. ;D Maybe for me but perhaps not for Michael.

Thanks girls! I have been telling anyone w/ears how great he is. lol. ;D I don't think the man is appreciated as much as he should be. As long as he keeps doing signings, I'll be there to show my support. As promised, some pictures: A close up that the hubby took: Me, my purse, MM & my book: Me talking to him:
