It's funny when you write on paper because each word is born like a little baby. It grows up just like a kid, depending on who reads it.
I really feel that this is one of the best expressions on interpretation that I have ever come across. Words don't always mean the same thing to all people, whether it be on a literal or an emotional level. It is just like a kid growing up, everyone views that person differently based on personal perspective. This is quite a compelling metaphor really. It's so true...well said

MAY
From Blessing of the Hounds:
The Read Thru
When you make a bad film, it's there Forever.
Like a big 250 ft. Herpe, with two legs, and two arms and a big ugly head always showing up when you least expect it. Walking up behind you; walking toward you, with an "I'm gonna f*ck you up" look on it's face.
Everyone sees the damn things.
Over and over. Your friends, your enemies, strangers. That's never true for the good films you have, if there are some.
Anyway.
This big, swollen, red, festering rotting 250 ft. pus vessel has big feet, too. In a nightmare, they'll be the last thing you see coming down to smash your f**king head.
Sometimes, it's saying, "Hey, I'm not so bad." But you know the truth.

Really strange poem, didn't seem like one of Michael's poems. He's an award winning poet, first poetry collection,Burning In Paradisr, won the Independent Book Publisher's Firecracker Poetry Book of the Year award.A third collection,46 Down is due to come out later this year.Michael said he definitely didn't start out to be a writer or a poet. In fact he's not sure whether what he does is poetry. Likes to think of it as a recording of memories. He likes to write poetry usually at 2 in the morning while lying sleepless and confused. Nove.

46 Down actually came out a while ago....
This is along the vein of what is called "stream of conciousness", a flurry of images and wording dealing with a single subject. Sometimes these pieces can seem a bit odd, even disjointed, but they're basically what the writer was thinking as it rambled along in their head. I've noticed that Michael leans towards this a good deal of the time. Stream of conciousness is one of my personal favorites when it comes to word play.

I thought "46 Down" was out ,but any news here is late in coming and I forget I could look on the net.In a written interview in June,1996 Michael was asked what inspired him to write poetry. He said, when you're sitting up at 4am in the morning and your best friend is a bottle of Jack Daniels--I went through a lot of dark times.I started writing stuff down to purge my thoughts.I was going to burn what I had written one night and a woman I was with suggested I not do that.I'm glad I didn't,because I wouldn't have remembered those thoughts in that way. June
1317 From Blessing of the Hounds
I walked into 1317 at the Windsor in New Orleans and saw my naked wife standing in the bathroom. Eight months pregnant and thought about the history of this place, the state, the river, the writer, the tombstones, the kings, the wars.
Oh yes, and the queens, they are still here.
The mardi gras, which means Fat Tuesday, and Carnival, voodoo worship and Napoleon who never made it, I guess.
My pregnant wife, my unborn son and writing this poem.
Shooting a film here "Fait Accompli" whatever the f*ck that means.

I don't know some how I think it's just a giant metaphor you know? Like the poem isn't supposed to be about his pregnant wife or the film...kooky...I like it.

I think Michael sees something and relates to it in a broken mode and puts it into verse. Nove.

Thank you both! I should have some time this weekend to get things caught up around here. Between getting ready for inventory at work and my brother's upcoming wedding, things have been a little hectic around here.
