Anybody watch or have a favorite black and white film? I don't say that I watch too many, but there is one that just gets me going every time I watch it. Penny Serenade with Cary Grant and Irene Dunn is absolutely the best. Why'd I list this in the favorite actor's category you ask? Simple, I think Cary Grant was a handsome, debonair actor with a flair for humor like some of the actors we have today. If I'd lived back then Cary Grant would have been my Michael Madsen for that time period.

I've always loved Clark Gable, he's just sooooooooo....something! Handsome, sexy, everything. Also love Frank Sinatra, more for the singing though, but he did some good movies too. But you're right, Cary Grant is great too.

i love john wayne also. i recently got 2 box sets. a john wayne set with 12 old wayne movies. and the horror classics box set {usally 24.95} with 50 classic horror movies. if anyone likes old horror you should get the set. i mean .50 cents a movie! pretty good deal, even if you only really like a few.

I have two films that I just adore: 'Arsenic and Old Lace' with Carey Grant...he is SO funny in this film. Also 'To Kill a Mockingbird' with Gregory Peck. He had such commanding presence when he hit the screen....amazing.

The Dollar Tree stores have started selling alot of great old b&w films....found it and James Cagney's 'Blood on the Sun' for a dollar each. Check it out if you have the stores in your area.
