Just bought Rambo: First Blood Part 1 and The Shawshank Redemption the other day, the latter has to be one of my all time favorites, Morgan Freeman is definately in my top 5 favorite actors list, or if he's not he should be. The guy just has this way of carrying himself and a presence that just puts you at ease throughout the movie. plus this flick hath helped the dude make it through some pretty tough times, I guess it'll all comes down to the great metaphoric line, " I guess it all comes down to a simple choice really, get busy livin or get busy dyin"
As for Rambo, this DVD was awesome, had one deleted scene and a great commentary from Sly-vester himself that was packed with info and humorous litle tidbits about the filming of the movie. Can't wait to get parts 2 and 3, while I don't think they were anywehre near the quality film wise of the original, it's still very fun for the dude to just sit back and watch Mr. Stallone blow the holy hell out of anything and everything around him for about 2 hours.. nice little action flick that doesn't require too much thought from the veiwers part, which makes for a refrshing change of pace at times. good times all around.

Freeman has always been one of my favorites. He just has such a screen presence & makes it looks effortless. I was watching Se7en yesterday...that's got to be one of my favorite roles of his.

Need a cool compress? But seriously, I just watched Frankenstein again a few weeks ago on satellite. I'd forgotten how much I liked it. I still haven't seen Van Helsing...I've heard some not so good things about it. But I think I could suffer through it just to see Hugh.

I had a FANTASTIC movie shopping day yesterday down in Kansas City. We went to the Rivermarket Antique Store, and just as we were getting ready to leave something caught my eye. I couldn't believe what I found. The tapes were in PERFECT condition, the box had absolutely NO wear to it at all, and it was only $5:
The original 'Cleopatra' with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
I'm going to watch it tonight after 'Tilt'....it's one of my favorite epics of all time.

Yesterday I ordered one of my favorite animated movies from Amazon: 'The Road to El Dorado'. I can't wait for it to get here!! Great music, and funny as can be.

Well...technically I didn't buy it...a friend bought it for me...but it's a really good movie. 'American Yakuza' with Viggo Mortensen. I think it's one of his best early roles that I've seen. It's about the first ever westerner to be accepted into the Tendo crime family. Great stuff.

Sounds good! I'll have to check it out. Anything w/ Viggo is worth watching.
