is an utterly awesome movie, I won't spoil it for those who haven't scene it but it's resevoir doggish in it's dialogue ( although it still maintains it's originality) I just saw it for the first time last night, I was just blown away, highly reccomending this flick to all you guys.. the plot goes something like this, these two guys ( who are catholics, get sick of all the crime and sick stuff happening in their city, so they go out on a rampage in the process dozens upon dozens of russian mobsters, pimps, crack ho's (plus one innocent cat) get blown away, there are so many quotable lines in this movie www.mutantreviewers.com/rboondock.htmlbest reveiw I could find, also has all the awesome one liners from the movie... it's one of the funniest as well as the most action packed and also one of the best set up in terms of plot pacing, although at the end it will leave you wanting a little more.

I ADORE this movie. I'm a huge fan girl of this film. I have: The MacMannus brothers' Peacoat (official movie merchandise....best damned winter coat I've ever had) and.... A Celtic cross tattooed on my left upper arm with the words Veritas, Aequitas (in the proper lettering style too) encircling it.
We actually have two copies of this film at our house...and when we moved a year and a half ago...the packing style of the hour was called "the Rocco Box".....need I say more?
The second film is actually in the can, but dear Troy has yet to find a distributor for it....so who knows if it will ever see the light of day. The first one had a hard enough time as it was. Blacklisted for it's violent content, it has only ever been shown in one theater in the US...last summer in San Francisco at a film festival.
Made on a budget of about 5 million, the director Troy Duffy and his band The Boondock Saints actually appear in the film (the other bar patrons during the fight scene), and contribute to the soundtrack (Holy Fool, during Rocco's shoot-em-up at the Lakeview Diner). No official soundtrack was ever released, but a group of hardcore fans have made an "unofficial" one...so if anyone would like a copy just let me know.
I even have photos taken of the church from the opening scene that I took on my last trip to Boston. Still need to get them develped though. The church is actually Methodist, not Catholic. The Arch Diocese of Boston would not allow any filming to take place in any of the Catholic churches in the area due to the violent content of the script.
So...there are your facts not worth knowing for the day!!!

*blushes*....Mike and Brenda got me turned on to The Boondock Saints. Mike and I had a big conversation after I watched it for the first time about how Troy Duffy was DEFINITELY influenced by Tarintino as both a director and a writer....
It and Reservoir Dogs are tied as my favorite modern movies....can't choose.

Damn, I gotta hunt somebody down for this. I heard the Cop from the first movie isn't in this one though? That sucks, he was awesome.

Nope...Willem Dafoe isn't in the second one. The storyline supposedly goes like this:
The brothers and Da escaped to Ireland, but are lured out of hiding when someone begins to impersonate them back in Boston...taking out priests.
It MIGHT be coming out sometime this year...I've heard a few rumors here and there.
A Special Edition Unrated: Uncut version of The Boondock Saints will be released mid May of this year...so keep your eyes peeled for it!
