I've done this at alot of message boards, it usually goes over pretty big and becomes quite a long thread, the idea as most good ones are, is a simple one. Just post the name of the song that you currently happen to be listening to. either on your PC, or home CD player, or if your neighbor has one of the giant 500 watt marshal amps, then it's what song is your neighbors supremely untalented kids band currenty trying to butcher. Fade to Black - Metallica

This kind of thread is always good! Most of the other message boards I've been to do this & really helps to get to know each others musical tastes and starts some pretty interesting conversations.
I'm currently listening to The Song Remains The Same by Led Zeppelin from the Remasters double disc set. You can never go wrong w/ the Zep! ;D

Yep..the new album is loaded with great songs...."City of Blinding Lights" is one of my favorites. I'm rebuilding my collection...my CD collection got stolen a couple of years ago, so I've been rebuilding artist by artist. U2 is my current rebuild project, Sting will be next. So far I've got All That You Can't Leave Behind, and The Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum en route. I also got the Rattle and Hum DVD.....EXCELLENT if you haven't seen it.
Can you believe the boys are being inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.....it just doesn't seem like it's been that many years.

November Rain - GnR
haven't heard many U2 songs, kind of outside of my normal genre, but I've been definately meaning to check them out for a while, after hearing a few tunes on the radio a while back that were pretty good. gotta find a greatest hits CD or somethin'

November Rain - GnR haven't heard many U2 songs, kind of outside of my normal genre, but I've been definately meaning to check them out for a while, after hearing a few tunes on the radio a while back that were pretty good. gotta find a greatest hits CD or somethin' There are two CD's that cover a good portion of their catalog from 1980-2000, each one covering about ten years. U2 is, in my opinion, probably one of the greatest bands of all time...and beyond a doubt the best politically fueled band in the world. Bono in both word and deed is an amazing human being. I mean when you can taut being inducted into the Rock Hall the same year that you're up for a Nobel Peace Prize...I think that speaks volumes about the man. Some of the best U2 songs (again...personal opinion) I Will Follow New Years Day Sunday, Bloody Sunday October Pride (In The Name of Love) Where The Streets Have No Name One Tree Hill In God's Country Desire Mysterious Ways Even Better Than The Real Thing Pop Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me Sweetest Thing Beautiful Day All Because of You Yahweh

Dude, you most def. have to listen up on U2!! Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Amber pretty much summed it up in her post so I won't repeat, but I agree w/ everything she said. The closest band that I listen to that I would compare them to are Pearl Jam as far as depth & emotion & political awareness. The musical styles are very different of course, but you get the idea. And Amber, I have the Rattle & Hum VHS, still need to pick up the dvd..I've almost worn out the tape watching it so much! And...my god, I still can't believe they've been around long enough to go into the HOF....REALLY makes me feel old.. Oh yeah, right now I'm listening to a little Soul Asylum..."Runaway Train".

I've downloaded and listenid to " i still haven't foun what i'm looking for" i remember not liking them when i was younger, but in the last few years, certian events, and I guess jsut general maturing in general have gave me way different tastes, so I'd probably really dig a group like U2 now
The Rolling Stones - Under My Thumb

You seem to have pretty mature musical tastes for someone your age. People say I shouldn't like the kind of music I listen to b/c I like a lot of 50's, 60's & 70's music. But music is timeless & if weren't for the old stuff there wouldn't be any NEW stuff!

Totally agreed on music being timeless, well good music anyway.. there's crap from all eras.. but ya notice they never play that stuff on the radio 20 years after its released unless it's just for a quick laugh or something
Something for the pain - Bon Jovi & I miss my friend.. I can't remember the guys name who sings this ( sorry whoever you are, I really like the song though)
