In this thread you can discuss movies you've watched lately & give us your opinion on them.
My latest viewings:
"Bad Santa"-Skip It! I was really disappointed w/ this movie. I'd heard & read that it was really good, but I didn't think it was near as funny as it had been hyped. It had it's moments but all in all not a very funny movie. It had way too much cursing in it for my taste. I mean, I'm no prude but I don't want to hear the F word out of everyone's mouth every two seconds. Another disappointment for me was Billy Bob Thornton's performance, it seemed wooden & very uninspired. To me he does better w/ more serious roles, as in 'Sling Blade', than he does w/ comedy.
"Along Came Polly"-Skip It! Not nearly as funny as I'd hoped it would be, plus I really don't like Ben Stiller so maybe that had something to do w/ it. I would recommend "Meet The Parents" for anyone needing a Stiller fix. Very funny movie!
"50 First Dates- See It! Very cute movie! Excellent concept & Drew Barrymore & Adam Sandler are great, great chemistry. Not as good as 'The Wedding Singer' but worth a watch.

Ooooooh! Awesome idea!
1. Fahrenheit 9/11 - See it! I think that Michael Moore is a genius and I may be the only one, but he's a truth teller. The movie goes behind the scenes of the events of 9/11, the war in Iraq, and our President Bush. It's a must see.
2. Big Fish - See it! Very, very beautiful movie. While the acting by a few characters isn't great, the story is exciting and Ewan McGregor, I think, gives his best performance, along with another directing masterpiece by Tim Burton.
3. Intolerable Cruelty - Skip it! This movie isn't so recent, but I saw it on some movie channel because I'm a big George Clooney fan. However, this movie was hardly entertaining and the acting was... I'm sad to say... horrible. Wasn't much chemistry between George and Catherine Zeta Jones and the movie was just not entertaining.

I've heard that 'Farenheit 9/11 was pretty good, I'll probably wait to see it on dvd though.
My brother said he cried at the end of 'Big Fish' so I really wanna see this one, may have to rent it this weekend.
I haven't heard very much good stuff about 'Intolerable Cruelty'. I thought about watching it just to see George, but I'll wait & catch it on satellite. That way I'm not out any money. lol

I cried at the end of "Big Fish", too! Of course, I cry during everything, lol. Happy, sad, stupid, funny... I cry. LoL. There was one good thing about "Intolerable Cruelty"... George looked really handsome in his suits.

Yeah, I have a habit of crying during movies too. My brother is always making fun of me. Yes, George DOES look handsome in a suit. I really can't wait to see 'Ocean's Twelve'!

I am SO excited for "Ocean's Twelve". I remember hearing the music on the previews before "Troy" and I was freaking out. I loved the first one... George, Brad, Andy, Matt, Scott... everybody. Loved it!

I liked the original as well, but I thought the remake was more in depth and such. And I guess Catherine Zeta-Jones is gonna be in the sequel... I wonder how that'll work out.

The only thing I liked Catherine in was "Traffic". I thought she did really well in that flick.

I rented "The Butterfly Effect" today so as soon as I watch it I'll let you know what I thought. I'm not really that crazy about Ashton Kutcher but the previews looked pretty good.

Ooooh I really wanna see that. I am an Ashton fan and I'm excited to see him in a "serious" role that's obviously far from "Dude, Where's My Car?" LoL.

"The Butterfly Effect"-See It!!
Awesome, awesome movie! I don't care what the critics said about this movie, or Ashton's acting skills, this is a great movie! I was even highly impressed w/ Ashton & that's saying a lot coming from me. I don't wanna say too much or give anything away for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but I loved the concept of the movie, which is based on the Chaos Theory. The acting is great, the directing is great(from the same directors who did 'Final Destination 2', which I also love), the special effects are cool, very original & fresh. I highly recommend it!!

Now I can't wait to see Butterfly Effect. I rent through netflix and that's coming this week.
Every so often I rent older movies that I never saw and this weeked I watched Pay it Forward. I gotta say this was a great flick. Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt and Haley Joel Osmont were the main characters with a little appearance by Jon Bon Jovi (shocked me to say the least) and it was a great movie. I will be adding this one to my collection.
