Feel free to discuss your latest musical aquisitions here!
I didn't buy this one actually, my brother did, but we just got the new Velvet Revolver cd. For those who don't know, the group is made up of former Guns'n'Roses & Stone Temple Pilots members. The cd is pretty cool, lots of shades of G'n'R in there & w/ Scott Weiland on vocals it instantly reminds you of STP as he has one of the most distinctive voices in rock. Let's just see if he can stay out of jail & rehab long enough to do another album or tour! ;D
I would suggest any G'n'R & STP fans give it a listen!

Looks like I spoke too soon about Scott staying out of rehab... LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rocker Scott Weiland was sentenced to a six-month stint in a drug program on Thursday after pleading no contest to driving under the influence in Los Angeles. The former Stone Temple Pilots singer, who now fronts the band Velvet Revolver, also was placed on probation and ordered to repay the owner of a parked vehicle he rammed shortly before his October arrest on the misdemeanor DUI charge. Weiland, 36, previously was placed in a live-in detoxification program after an earlier arrest in May 2003 for heroin possession. In 1999, he served jail time for repeatedly violating his probation on drug charges and for failing to complete drug rehabilitation stints.

I LOVE Velvet Revolver. Awesome music right there. Poor Scott. Some people just don't know when to stop. And he has such an awesome voice, I'm sad that he's going through all this drug stuff.
But anyway, the last CD I bought... hmm... I usually download my music, lol. Umm... "Shakira; Live and Off The Record". Her dancing should be against the law because she's so good. LoL.

Yeah, it is really sad that he can't get a handle on this thing. He's such a talented musician & it looks like it all gets wasted on drugs/alcohol.

Slither is an awesome song, I crank it up everytime it comes on the radio.. is this a coincidence or what.. I'm probably the worlds BIGGEST guns n' roses fan.. I even stuck with them through their latest incarnation and saw their show in chicago in 2002, it was pretty rockin I must say
now let me think, I have so many CD'S but I haven't bought any in a while since I can get most any song I want for free off the net
the last one I remember buying was about a month ago, it was Tesla the millenium collection, sort of a greatest hits thing, 1st exposure I'd had to alot of their stuff and I must say it was pretty good

Modern Day Cowboy 2. Hang Tough 3.heavens trail ( no way out) 4. love song 5. the way it is 6.signs 7.edisons medicine 8. what you give 9. call it what you want 10. song and emotion 11. try so hard ( god i love that song) 12. mama's fool now you didn't hear this from me but if you wanna get all this and more for no charge at all, i highly reccomend www.bearshare.com it's completely free and uses up less space than kazaa and imesh.. plus I've found the search yield a good number more results

I rarely use my big CD player anymore.. back when I bought it, i was in middle school I think and i'd just spend hours cranking up all my albums ( all three of them )
now I have hundreds upon hundreds of cd's and probably a thousand songs on the pc, and I only get to listen to em' either while surfing the net in the background on my crappy PC speakers on in the car.
sorry to hear about your burner situation, is it totally beyond repair? I haven't been in the market for one in quite some time so I have no idea how much they would cost now
oh and the last cd I bought, today I picked up tom petty and the heartbreakers greatest hits.. great CD although I didn't appreciate how they left out classics such as "walls" and " you don't know how it feels" other than that a great disc from top to bottom..

Well, I think it actually has more to do w/ my comp. being a piece of sh*t than the actual burner. I tried dlin'g a new burner program & when I tried to bring it up it said something like there is no cd burner software or something to that effect. I just need a new computer... That Tom Petty cd is a good one, although I agree about the left out songs. And Aradia, STP are awesome, one of my fave groups. Just wish Weiland could've stayed outta rehab long enough to make it last a little longer!

I currently down own any STP albums but I have downloaded both Velvet Revolver's slither and an aweseome STP tune called interstate love song.
you don't think we could make a "what song have you just illegally downloaded" thread do ya lol... because my contributions could be greatly increased if we had one ;D
