I currently down own any STP albums but I have downloaded both Velvet Revolver's slither and an aweseome STP tune called interstate love song. you don't think we could make a "what song have you just illegally downloaded" thread do ya lol... because my contributions could be greatly increased if we had one ;D LOL, I could fill that thread up if we had it!! Interstate Love Song is one of my fave STP songs. All the albums are great! Esp. the early ones.

All three excellent choices Vags! I see we have the same tastes in music. Cool! I have taken so much crap from so many of my friends for having such varied tastes in music. The way I look at it is that if you only stick with one genre, you're never going to grow, you're never going to be able to truly appreciate music, and you're never going to learn the history about what started it all. Gotta LOVE Frank...a great American original...just like our Michael.

Yeah, I've gotten crap for my varied musical tastes too. But I get really bored if I listen to the same kind of music all the time, so hence the variance. And there's so much good music in a lot of different genres that I just have to give anything a listen at least once. Plus my brother's a musician so he's always finding new stuff for me to listen to too.

I found a GREAT site for music not too long ago. It's kind of like a music club, but no contracts or anything. You pick out what you want, and they charge your bank account or credit card $5.99 once a month and ship your monthly pick for free. With the exception of some 2 and 3 cd collections ALL of the cd's are $5.99. January's pick for me was: REM, Murmur....their debut album. GREAT songwriting, some of their very best. February's pick (Will be shipped on the 28th) The Music. Absolutely brilliant Brit band. Check them out if you haven't heard of them yet. Their new album "Welcome to the North" is excellent, and the song "Breakin'" is so catchy...my feet can't sit still. Probably going to buy Black Rebel Motorcycle Club as well...another great Brit band. (are we seeing a pattern here) Anyhoo...the site is www.yourmusic.com.

I think I have now and zen on vynal somewhere around here, might have to dust it off and give it a spin sometime, ah yes, even at 19 I prefer vynal records to cd's or cassettes, call it nostalgia or maybe I just got a retro thing goin on.. but it just sounds like it gas more soul when the needle goes over the record as opposed to a flat plastic disc playing stored databytes at some many rates per second.
last 3 cd's I actually BOUGHT where
Tunnel of Love - bruce springsteen
alice in chains - Jar of Flies
Bon Jovi - Crossroads

I got a two cd set of Sinatra for Christmas: "Beginnings" & "Showstoppers" which is VERY good. I also have the one that Dude was talking about. Good stuff!!
I haven't actually bought any new cds in awhile, but I also got Toby Keith's Greatest Hits 2 for Christmas. The top two that are on my must-buy list are the new ones from U2 & Collective Soul. Guess I need to start saving my pennies. ;D

I just got two new cds:
The special two disk edition of 'The Phantom of the Opera' soundtrack......simply gorgeous. Gerard Butler has an earth shattering voice. He can act, sing, and is one heck of a handsom Scot.....the man is amazing.
and...
Generation Trance 2000. I have a weakness for good trance, and this CD is loaded with mixes from some phenomenal German DJ's. It was a "used" bin find at our local FYE. I always wind up buying all of the things that no one else around here will....because it's usually some really great stuff, obscure bands that I know and love. Yes...I'm a geek like that.
For example, I got four Misery Loves Company CD's, Sister Machinegun, Godhead, and Elysian Fields for $3 total. No one at the store knew who the bands were...I almost flipped.

Just picked up an old album by a group I'd never heard of, their called the gin blossoms and the albums is called " new miserable experience" it's lyircally mostly about failed relationships and drinking to resolve ones problems, but it's all dealt with a style that makes it reminescent of the goo goo dolls, the 1st three songs lost horizons, mrs rita and hey jealousy all deal with depressing subject matter but do so in an upbeat tempo, the catchiness of the songs are undeniable, the next track until I fall away is a haunting ballad that deals with the same subject matter as the rest of the album but in a way that makes you take it a little more seriously.
other songs include cheatin, 29, allison road, the awesome found out about you.. if you're into early 90's pop rock I strongly suggest this album for your collection

My next Cd that will be ordered on Friday is going to be 'Songs From the Crystal Cave' by Steven Seagal. YES..the actor Steven Seagal. I have heard 3 songs off the album (one of which I have an MP3 that I am more than willing to share) and they are AMAZING! The man can sing like nobody's business! His music is very bluesy and soulfull.
It's going to cost me an arm and a leg...$40 dollars US to have it shipped from France...but my friend Sharon is paying for part of it as well. It was released only in France, which is a bit frustrating...but I have no doubts that it will be worth the money spent!
