The Machurian Canidate:See it Very intense movie, I see Meryl Streep getting a nomination for this one. Better than the original and an awesome performance from all cast members

Saved - Ok I originally rented this one because I saw previews and knew Mandy Moore got roughed up in it. What's not to love right? But it was an entertaining movie. Coming from an education of 13 years of Christian Schooling, I can honestly say this movie is dead on accurate. I found myself laughing at the similarities in it and my own experiences. And yes, Mandy Moore getting yelled at an screwed up was cool too. Envy So/So - I know someone on this board talked about not liking Jack Black and I'm leaning towards agreeing with them totally. It was funny in parts and Christopher Walken is in true form in this one. He's the funniest part though. I just can't really appreciate or at this point tolerate 'physical' actors like Black. Annoying. Soul Plane Good God Almighty was this stupid. Some funny parts, and little else. I think this movie is the closest you can come to porn with clothes on. Seriously, the references and graphic scenes were just bad.

Super Size Me - For anyone who is considering eating healthy this is the movie that will spur you into action. Shoot, it did that to me. In a documentary dedicated to the obesity problem in America, director Morgan Spurlock puts himself on a 30 day McDonald's diet, wherein he eats only food from the fast food god and if asked, must supersize it. The results are frightening to say the least, and I assure you, everything you thought about fast food is true but there is a whole different set of cautions issued in this movie to add to that. Seriously, for me and my family, this movie left us boycotting fast food, and me investing all the money we spent on fast food for stuff that I can cook and control what goes into it. A definate must see if you're concerned about your weight, your fast food intake or someone elses. Frightening.

BTW saw a couple new ones thought I'd share. Van Helsing - Pretty cool movie with some good bits of humor thrown in there. Hugh Jackman is good at that though and as hard as it was to not see him as Wolverine, he played a good part in this. Garfield - Loved the cartoons hated this movie. Potentially had to do with the fact my five year old watched it about eight thousand times while we had it, but this was really stupid folks. I mean I couldn't really get into it and even with Bill Murray as the voice of Garfield there wasn't any saving this one.

Renegade - Ok, this was interesting and as usual (course we all knew this from the description of the movie) Michael's a naughty boy once again. Good plot and story line and attention grabbing. My only problem with this one is that towards the end of the film, there is an incredibly long scene using special effects showing demons and other computerized graphics that was just too long. There was the need for this, but not as long as the scene was and I found it frustrating to say the least because after about five minutes of it I lost interest because it was so long. It is a good movie though, and the character Mike plays is enhanced by his delivery and humor. Definate must see, but be prepared for some weird spirit/demon scenes.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind Must have been the week for trippy movies because this one is trippy as well. Carrey plays a man who has dated a woman he's fallen in love with, but because of an argument they have she has all memories of him erased from her mind. As a result of this he decides to do the same and the movie progresses to teach a very valuable lesson when it comes to relationships. Again, though during the process of the memory erasure, there are quite a few scenes that you really have to pay attention in order to understand. (At least I did)
Grand Theft Parsons The story of Gram Parsons death and his road manager's insistence to carry out his Viking style last wish of having his body burned in the desert. Jonny Knoxville is humorous in this one and there are quite a few crazy moments that you can't believe really happened. So-So movie.
A Cinderella Story Ok, anyone who knows a little girl who is into princesses, princes and fairytales will want to see this with their little princess. Actually this wasn't a bad flick at all even though I tend to think Hillary Duff sucks. She was actually quite good in this one and the supporting characters are excellent.

I saw it at the theatre, it's pretty good. Not as good as the original, but worthy of the name.
