I'm still plodding thru my Anne Rice book, almost finished w/ it though. I'll probably finish it this weekend. Don't know what I'm gonna read next, guess it depends on what mood I'm in.

I totally understand what you mean by plodding. I just started Patricia Cornwell's Blow Fly. Its not that the book is hard to read or anything, it's very intricate and you really have to pay attention so that you don't miss anything. I wouldn't worry about it if it wasn't almost five hundred pages long. I don't have time to read it over once I'm done so I need to really pay attention. Don't get me wrong, it's a great read just long.

Yeah, that's the way it is w/ Rice's books, they're really good but just so involved that you have to pay attention. And she incorporates a lot of other characters & past storylines into the new books that sometimes you have to stop & think, 'Now which book was that from?'. It's a good thing I have my "Guide to the Vampire Chronicles" book so all I have to do is just look it up. lol

Ok, so while I'm reading the Cornwell novel I hit the library again and borrowed a copy of Michael J. Fox's autobiography. Wow is all I can say. While I am always interested in anything relating to show biz no matter whether I'm a fan of the person or not, I've always found Fox to be entertaining. But the story he tells in this book is enlightening both towards his life and his struggle with Parkinson's Disease. This book is a good read and almost feels as if you're talking with a friend or listening to them tell you a story. Enjoyable and a great break from the other book. Definately recommend.

I haven't read a lot of biographies. I think the last one I read was Bruce Campbell's, which was highly entertaining.

I started reading "Death's Door" by Michael Slade this week. Pretty good so far, it's horror in the vein of Stephen King w/ a little Thomas Harris thrown in.

I finished "Death's Door" & now I'm reading "Blindsighted" by Karin Slaughter, another serial killer book. It's great so far, I'm about half-way through & I've only been reading it for about 2 days.

You're reading all of those at the same time? lol I can read about two at one time & that's about it. Right now I'm reading 'Blood Canticle' by Anne Rice. Then I got four of the John Sandford 'Prey' novels from Amazon to keep me occupied after that.

For once in my life I am actually done reading everything I had and need to get to the library. I never finished Blow Fly because I found it disappointingly too dry and not enough excitement to keep me reading. I have always been a fan of Cornwell but this was really bad.

If you like murder mystery/thriller/detective/forensics kinda books (that was probably totally confusing...) I would highly suggest John Sandford's "Prey" novels. I've read just about all of them, & I can honestly say they are my fave series of books next to Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles...and that's saying a lot coming from me! And Sandford has moved up to my third favorite author behind Rice & Stephen King. I would also suggest reading Karin Slaughter's books. She has four books in the series right now, I've read the first two & I'm almost finished w/ the third one. As soon as the 4th comes out in paperback I'll read that one too. And I read on her web site that she's working on the 5th book in the series. The books are set in a small town in GA & the main character is a woman who is the local pediatrician & also the ME, so she gets sucked into all the bizarre goings-on that happen in the town. Plus her ex-husband is the chief of police so not only do you have the mystery/thriller thing going on but you also have the sexual/relationship tension between her & her ex. Makes for some pretty good stuff!
